How to preview and test your setup

Overview

Before launching any personalization strategy, it’s important to preview how it behaves across different pages, devices, and shopper types. Liva 7 gives you tools to simulate sessions, test widgets, and confirm that your targeting rules and signals are working as expected.

Step 1: Use the Bundle Simulator

Go to the Bundles tab in Liva 7 and open the Bundle Simulator. This tool lets you preview how your bundles will render and respond to different inputs - such as page type, product context, or audience conditions.

Step 2: Preview widgets in your Shopify theme

In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes → Customize. Navigate to the page where your Liva 7 widget is placed.

Use this to confirm:

• The widget appears in the correct location
• The layout and styling match your theme
• The widget loads without errors

Note: Shopify’s theme preview may not reflect real-time personalization or signal-based logic. For full testing, use a private browser session.

Step 3: Check Signal Activation

In the Signals section of the Targeting Rules tab, confirm that key signals like browsing behavior, cart activity, and similarity patterns are marked as Active. If any are Waiting for data, simulate traffic or review your store’s analytics.

Step 4: Test in a Private Browser

To simulate a first-time visitor:

1. Open your storefront in an incognito or private browser window
2. Browse, add items to cart, and navigate between pages
3. Watch how widgets and content respond in real time

This is the best way to test anonymous personalization and session scoring.
