Commerce OS guide

Plans and Billing

Guide status: Commercial administration guidance. Last reviewed 14 August 2026. Plan names, prices, included usage and limits require commercial review immediately before publication.

Purpose

This guide explains how plan and billing information should be handled inside the Liva 7 operating system without presenting draft packaging or future capabilities as current fact.

Use current sources of truth

Read the plan, currency, billing interval, trial state, approved charges and renewal information from the current authorised Shopify or Liva 7 commercial surface. Marketing pages and documentation should describe only approved offers and should be reviewed when packaging changes.

If two surfaces disagree, do not guess which is correct. Preserve the merchant's existing state, capture the discrepancy without credentials and ask the authorised billing owner or support team to verify it.

Plan-dependent capabilities

Describe a capability as available only when the installed application and current plan expose it. Separate these cases:

  • available and ready to configure;
  • available but waiting for setup, permission or data;
  • limited by a stated current plan or usage boundary;
  • planned or being explored, and therefore not a production promise;
  • unavailable in the current context.

An upgrade may provide access to a capability, but it does not guarantee a commercial outcome. Evidence, configuration, customer context and merchant operation still matter.

Billing approval boundary

Any Shopify charge requiring merchant acceptance remains pending until an authorised person completes Shopify's current billing flow. Liva 7 should not represent a plan as changed before that approval is confirmed. Repeated or failed billing attempts should not create duplicate commitments.

Operational limits

Where a current plan includes usage or operating limits, show the definition, reset period and consequence of reaching the limit. A limit state should preserve saved work and a useful storefront experience where possible. Do not silently degrade measurement or substitute modelled values for unavailable processing.

Safe use

Do not place provisional prices, private commercial negotiations or unapproved roadmap items in public help content. Do not ask for card details, Shopify credentials or recovery codes in support. Refund, cancellation, tax and invoicing statements require current policy and qualified review.

You are finished when

  • the merchant can identify the current authoritative billing surface;
  • plan-dependent states are accurate and timestamped where needed;
  • approval and successful activation are distinct; and
  • public claims have passed commercial review.
