Recommendation Review

Review the decision, not just the proposed action

A recommendation brings evidence, interpretation and a possible next step together. Your review should test whether that chain is commercially sound, safe to execute and proportionate to the strength of the evidence.

Use the seven-question review

  1. What changed, and which source supports that observation?
  2. Which goal does the recommendation support?
  3. Is the affected product, audience and timeframe correct?
  4. What assumptions, unknowns or competing explanations remain?
  5. Which margin, inventory, brand, consent or Shopify boundary applies?
  6. Can the action be previewed, measured and reversed?
  7. Who has authority to approve this scope?

Choose an explicit outcome

  • Approve when the action is ready inside the stated boundary.
  • Edit when the direction is useful but scope or execution needs correction.
  • Defer when a named dependency or evidence window must complete.
  • Dismiss when the recommendation is irrelevant, unsafe or based on the wrong interpretation.
Feedback needs a reason

A short decision reason helps later briefings distinguish genuine learning from an untouched or expired suggestion.
