    Outcome

Separate decisions from routine activity and trace what changed, why it changed and which authority applied.

    Before you begin

The authority setting, receipt or customer-facing state that you want to review.

    Keep control

Keep important actions reviewable and use the available restore route when a change should be reversed.

Use Inbox as a decision surface

Inbox separates work that needs your attention from routine activity. Open the underlying workspace when you need the full evidence or a control that is not present in the message.

    Decision
A review, approval or choice that needs a person with the right authority.
    Activity
A recorded change or system event that may be useful without requiring action.
    Receipt
The available record of what changed, why it changed and which authority applied.
    Restore
A recovery route when the action and current state support one.

    Review a decision or receipt

    1. Read the reason.Understand why the item reached Inbox and which goal or condition it relates to.
    2. Open the evidence.Check the source, time period, confidence and affected objects before deciding.
    3. Check authority.Confirm who or which policy prepared, approved or carried out the action.
    4. Review the change.See what was altered and what was intended to remain untouched.
    5. Use restore when appropriate. If a recovery control is available, inspect its consequence before applying it.
    6. Keep the record.Use the receipt or reference when reviewing performance or contacting support.

    Finish with a check

    Check the result

You can see what happened, why it happened, which authority applied and what action remains available to you.
