Read demand without confusing attention and revenue
Attention can be commercially useful before it becomes revenue, but only when each stage keeps its own meaning.

A product can attract searches and views without producing baskets. A collection can gain baskets while checkout completion falls. An external trend can rise while your catalogue is out of stock. Calling all of these demand hides the decision you actually need to make.
Demand Intelligence is strongest when it follows movement through your own journey and uses external context as context, not prophecy.
Read the progression
Searches and views show attention. Repeated product comparison can show consideration. Baskets show a stronger observed action. Checkout and purchase add later commercial evidence. Each stage needs a consistent eligible population and period.
Attention without baskets may raise questions about fit, price, availability or product explanation. Baskets without purchase may point to delivery expectations, checkout friction or ordinary interruption. Events cannot prove motive.
Add commercial and market checks
Before increasing exposure, check stock, variants, returns, contribution and lifecycle. A rising product that cannot be fulfilled or produces weak quality may require a different response.
Search Console, Store owner Center and other approved sources can add query, landing-page and feed context. Keep their definitions, account, market and retrieval time visible.
A practical route
- Choose product and period. Keep the subject and comparison stable.
- Map observed stages. Compare eligible searches, views, baskets, checkout and purchase.
- Inspect the largest gap. Frame plausible explanations without declaring intent.
- Check commercial fitness. Review stock, profit, lifecycle and customer voice before acting.
Keep these checks visible
- Use real journey denominators
- Keep preview activity out
- Test a content or placement hypothesis when motive remains uncertain
A useful demand view does not collapse the journey. It helps your team choose which gap deserves a better question.
