Why AI Discovery readiness is not a Google ranking score
Catalogue readiness can be assessed. An external answer engine's future ranking or citation cannot be guaranteed.

In Liva 7: when AI Discovery is enabled for your store, it reviews your Shopify catalogue data. The readiness review is read-only. It does not publish changes or measure your position in external AI answers. Make any approved product-data edits in Shopify, then check the updated review.
Product data that is complete, consistent and easy to interpret can support many channels. It can improve your own operations, feed quality and the clarity available to crawlers or answer systems. That is a useful readiness goal.
It is not the same as an external visibility score. Google and other services control their own ranking, retrieval and presentation systems, which change independently of Liva 7.
Measure what your team can verify
Assess factual completeness, variant consistency, identifiers, policy clarity, market availability, structured product information and contradiction. Show the exact fields and source behind each readiness issue.
Prepare improvements for review and publish them through Shopify. Recheck the resulting catalogue state. These are observable steps with clear ownership.
Keep external outcomes separate
You may later observe eligible Search Console queries, landing traffic or provider-specific reports. Preserve their definitions and dates. Do not claim a catalogue change caused a ranking movement without an accepted method.
Never present a modelled readiness score as the probability of appearing in ChatGPT, Google, Perplexity or another external service.
A practical route
- Choose catalogue scope. Select products, market and language.
- Inspect factual gaps. Review source fields, inconsistency and confidence.
- Approve exact improvements. Keep brand, legal and product accuracy under human control.
- Verify local readiness. Measure catalogue condition separately from external discovery.
Keep these checks visible
- Use descriptive product facts
- Keep canonical product information consistent
- Treat provider reports as their own evidence
The honest opportunity is valuable enough: make your catalogue clearer and easier to operate, then observe external outcomes without inventing control over them.
